My mission was to create a people and dog-friendly home, using as many locally produced pieces and materials as possible and aim toward practical sustainability.
A complete soft overhaul was done on this home and the end result was a total transformation without any hard construction. Paintwork in eco-friendly water based paints was the first step. I chose a soothing dove blue palette for the interior walls and doors, added additional down lights to replace cluttering dated wall lights. The new Oak flooring was laid over existing tiles and a vented temperature control system with a central pellet burner and old school radiators minimises electrical usage.
I sourced naturally based cottons and linens for the upholstery and used Mavromac’s wonderful Ardmore collection for color and fun. The dining table by James Mudge and bamileki stools from Amatuli are two key pieces used, although all the furniture throughout the house (with the exception of the dining chairs) was custom designed by Metaphor and manufacturers in SA for the project.
I loved this project, a huge thank you to you both!
