It’s been an absolute pleasure to work on this incredible upgrade to the San Sereno resident facilities. This was an opportunity to really touch peoples lives through their experience of their everyday experience and I believe that we have truly made a difference! In tune with the clients’ vision that a senior living establishment should be luxurious and gorgeous rather than drab and depressing, we brought colour, sophistication and glamour to the main building’s Bar & Lounge and elevated the Restaurant to fine dining standards.
In designing the main bar counter, we chose materials to impart class without pretension! White Oak cladding, handmade ceramic tiles and a white marble composite. Emerald green and peacock blue velvets cover bespoke sofas, and provide a sumptuous base on with to scatter Christian Liagre cushions. The use of natural materials; linen, rattan & Oak brings things down to earth while black steel pendants and brassy accessories glitz it up.
In the main restaurant walls covered in Elitis silk envelope the room furnished with boldly upholstered seats and Ash wood dining tables. Giant crystal chandeliers hang from recessed ceiling panels above. The Private Dining Room leads off the big room and is meant for more intimate parties. Here we used an Impressionist lily pond mural wallpaper and, although its dramatically different, the upholstery colour palette fits with both beautifully and acts as a perfect intermediary.
A combined floor finish of cut terrazzo tiles and printed Desso carpet links these three spaces as the colours spill from one space to the next beautifully. The response from residents and visiting public has been wonderful, and we thank you, Auria Senior Living, for this experience!
