While Johannesburg might not be able to boast ocean views and the sanctity of mountains, we do have wonderful homes, community and glorious weather! This place is home to me and I’ve come to appreciate the special perks of settling into the suburbs. Joburgers are true nesting creatures. We value what we have and put a lot into creating nurturing environments within our walls. This home, in a wonderful location is one of the true beauties that allows for quality family time and gatherings with friends. The sprawling lawn and established garden have no doubt seen many a child’s fantasy games. When the client approached me for a large scale renovation, the vision was clear. The brief involved  requiring spacial reconfiguration and new finishes throughout the house as well as new furniture. The client had a clear sense of what they wanted and we are grateful to see that it has come to fruition so wonderfully. There are distinctively traditional elements paired with classic, minimalist furniture. Most notedly the wall panelling and carefully crafted solid oak screens and doors set against bespoke furniture pieces. 

This project really allowed us to design some special custom pieces and incredibly intricate joinery details. Each space was carefully considered and detailed. I am thrilled with the result.
